"At Spirit River Sound, your artistic visions are met with passion, heart, and the skillful brilliance of engineer Jackson Mathey. Great moments are captured at the highest level of production, uplifting the musician's dream and sharing that magic with the world."
"Spirit River Sound is great at working with artists to achieve their unique visions and goals. I have worked with him on choral records, world music records, and electronic dance music records, and the quality of his work is superb, never mind his professionalism and quick turnaround."
"From the moment I started working with Spirit River Sound, I knew I was in good hands. Jackson had a level of sensitivity to my needs and concerns, and that support meant everything to me. He was willing to go the extra mile to present me with what was possible."
"I don't believe in cookie-cutter processing. Every song has a unique energy, intention, and spark. My role as a mixer, masterer, or co-producer is to find that intention and amplify it. I work meticulously to encourage artists, helping them align with their own artistic vision, taste, and power. The tools serve the music—not the other way around."
Spirit River Sound began as a creative wellspring when, at twelve years old, Jackson first discovered a Roland direct-to-CD recorder in his father's music equipment. Already a drummer, his creativity exploded as he explored the medium of recorded sound.
Two decades of experience — through the College of Santa Fe Contemporary Music Program, countless bands and collaborations — have refined that initial spark into a precise, soulful craft. The river has been sculpted by a multitude of gifted artists, singular voices, talented bands, and sounds transcending many genres.
All united by a central idea: world-building through sound.
